Children's Liturgy
School age children

The Children’s Liturgy runs during the first half of the 9.30 Sunday Mass. All school age children are welcome to attend, but it is focused on those of primary school age.

To attend the Liturgy, the children go into church for the beginning of Mass, then are taken as a group down to the Parish Room. There are always at least two adults with the children, so parents can stay in Church to participate in the Mass. A typical Liturgy session would involve listening to the Gospel in a simplified format, having a discussion around the issues raised and then doing a related activity. We return to church for the Offertory so that the children are still involved in the Mass.

The Creche

The Creche runs during the first half of the 9.30 Sunday Mass. It operates for babies and pre-school children, and is located in the Green Room, off the Parish Room. Parents should take their children to the Creche before Mass begins, and are welcome to stay if this will help settling in. We have a selection of books and toys, and try to do a Bible related activity with the older children. We return to the Mass at the beginning of the Offertory, together with the children from the Children’s Liturgy. There are always at least two adults in the Creche.

Volunteers/Helpers

We would be very grateful for more volunteers/helpers for the Children’s Liturgy and Creche rotas. Why not sit in and see how you like it – the more people the better!

Please note that you would need to be CRB checked to work with children in the parish
