Parish Council

THE ROLE OF THE PARISH COUNCIL
OF THE
SACRED HEART CHURCH
HOVE

The Parish Council is appointed by the Parish Priest and is accountable to the Parish Priest and the Parishioners.

The Parish Council is dedicated to ensuring that the needs of the parish and the community are identified and met.
This will be accomplished by each member having a designated responsibility and clearly defined role. They will act on behalf of the Parish Priest and provide support and direction to other members of the parish who may be
co-opted from time to time to take on specific tasks. All areas of parish activity are represented and will be supported by the Council.

The Parish Council will be a channel for Diocesan communications and programmes, provide a link with other parishes within the Hove cluster of parishes and maintain links with other denominations and faith groups.

The Parish Council will, by securing the support of all members of the parish, work towards ensuring that the mission of the parish is fulfilled.
